Help Documentation Conventions

The following typographic conventions are used throughout the help documentation to help you locate and interpret information easily:

Buttons

displayed in bold, usually with title caps, according to the interface. For example, Save & Publish.

Directories

displayed in Courier bold, usually with title caps, according to the directory name. For example, My Images.

Field names

displayed in bold, usually with title caps, according to the interface. For example, Site Name.

Key names

displayed in uppercase. For example, ENTER.

Link

underlined and displayed in blue. For example, learn more about Power Commerce help.

Screens, named

usually with title caps according to the interface. For example, Insert Text.

Screen options

bold, usually with title caps according to the interface. For example, Display as bulleted list.

Screens, unnamed

all lowercase. For example, confirmation screen.

URLs

all lowercase. For example, http://www.mercantec.com.

 

Tips, Notes, and Warnings (example follows)

Designator

bold uppercase and displayed in blue text on a light blue background.

Text

normal text displayed on a light blue background.
