Creating Your Site

Q. 1-1 What information do I need before I can start building my site?

A. Although you can build a site using placeholders for information, it's easier to build your site if you first decide what you want to include before you actually start building. Refer to Getting Started for help on planning your site.

Q. 1-2 I have my own image I want to use on my site. How do I add the image to the list of images available to display on my site pages?

A. Navigate to the Home Page screen (or to any page you created from the Add/Edit Pages screen). Click Select. A new window displays the Selecting an Image screen. Select the My Images directory from the Image Library directory list. Click Upload. Enter the path and filename of the image to be uploaded or click Browse and select the image to upload. Click Upload. The image is uploaded to the My Images directory.

To insert an image on your home page, navigate to the Home Page screen and then edit your home page.

To insert an image on a page other than your Home Page, navigate to the Add/Edit Pages screen, and then edit an existing page.

Q. 3-1 How do I change the name of the new page I created?

A. PowerWebBuilder lets you change the name of your home page and any custom page you created using the "New" page. To change the name of the page, click Back or Next to navigate to Add/Edit Pages screen. Select the page to be changed from the Edit an existing page list. Change the name of the page in the Page Title field and then click Save.

Saving & Exiting

Q. 4-1 How do I save my site?

A. You don't need to do anything special to save your site. Your design selections and page content is saved as you move forward through the screens. To save entries made on the current page, click Next or Save and then exit PowerWebBuilder. You will automatically return to the same page to continue to build your site the next time you log in.
